What to look for in a Professional roofer?
One of the biggest home investments you should put into is your roof. Most homeowners look for the best deal for the best price. How are you supposed to determine who to trust to provide you the best job at the best price?
Finding a quality roofer starts with consulting the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The BBB rates roofers on a scale of A+ to F (with A+ being the very best). The BBB will let you know if the roofer has had any major complaints within the past 3 years filed against them.
Tips for using the BBB as a resource:
- Look for a company that has an A+ rating and zero complaints
- Ask how long the roofing company has been in business (a newer business may have a higher rating – but only because they haven’t been around long enough to collect negative reviews!)
Ask the roofing company for references. You can inquire about previous addresses so you can view the work in person or even ask if you can observe the roofing company’s workers to get a feel for their work ethic. Do the roofers treat their customers properties with respect? Do they stay until the job is finished or do they abandon the job for a few days to return to it later (not prioritizing their current customer)? Does the company have workers’ compensation and Business Liability Insurance?
You will get what you pay for. Your roof may look nice and pretty when it’s finished, but it may not hold over time. A properly done roof should last about 20 to 30 years, minimum.
The protection of one of your most important assets, your home, starts with your roof. By choosing a reputable roofer, like Solid Rock Roofing, you’re choosing to protect your home’s contents and most importantly, your family.
